چکیده
This paper presents an improved earth pressure method that considers the capacity of a wall toe to carry load predict connection loads GRS segmental walls constructed with cohesionless backfills on competent foundations. In this method, response surface model (RSM) lateral coefficient replaces Coulomb active coefficient. The parameters RSM were determined from numerical studies impacts restraint, geometry, and backfill properties distribution between reinforcement layers. unknown coefficients obtained through regression analysis 705 values 65 simulated walls. proposed was compared stiffness using measured field centrifuge results show predictions are in better agreement measurements than those whether under typical or poor restraint condition.

Simplified Procedure to Evaluate Earthquake-induced Residual Displacement of Geosynthetic Reinforced Soil Retaining Walls
Based on a series of shaking table model tests, it was found that the eŠects of 1) subsoil and backˆll deformation, 2) failure plane formation in backˆll, and 3) pullout resistance mobilized by the reinforcements on the seismic behaviors of the geosynthetic reinforced soil retaining walls (GRS walls) were signiˆcant. These eŠects cannot be taken into account in the conventional pseudo-static ba...

in this study, stability of geosynthetic reinforced soil retaining walls investigated using plaxis code that is based on finite element method. the effects of axial stiffness, length and vertical space between geosynthetic layers, internal friction angle of soil wall and cohesion of foundation on deformations of wall and maximum axial force of geosynthetic have been investigated. results of ana...
متن کاملEvaluation of Geosynthetic Forces in GRSRW under Dynamic Condition
Geosynthetics have proved to be suitable for reinforced soil retaining walls. Based on the increasing uses of geosynthetic reinforced soil systems in the regions, which bear frequent earthquakes, the study of dynamic behavior of structures seems necessary. Determining the reinforcement forces is; therefore, one of the most important and main points of discussions in designing retaining walls, b...

Simulations de grandes déformations et post-rupture des murs de soutènement segmentaires utilisant la méthode des mailles-libres (SPH) ABSTRACT: Numerical methods are extremely useful in gaining insights into the behaviour of reinforced soil retaining walls. However, traditional numerical approaches such as limit equilibrium or finite element methods are unable to simulate large deformation and...
